How Do I Get... Saved?
There are alot of people's opinions about what it means when the Bible say to "be saved".
Romans 6:23a For the wages of sin is death;
In order to accept God’s gift we must recognize that when we sin (do things against God) that sin separates us from God and has a price that must be paid:
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
This is a first and necessary step. No matter how “good” we are we can never merit Heaven.
Salvation is a Gift, it can not be purchased or earned; but it must be accepted.
Romans 6:23b but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus Christ paid our sin debt and presented it to us as a gift:
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
to Jesus Christ
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
(2 Corinthians 5:17)
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Repentance is a Bible word that means “to turn” or change Direction.
When you turn from sin and the world and turn to Jesus Christ you will be starting with a clean slate, old things are passed away, behold all things become new.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
We can’t pray for you, but we can pray with you. A sinner’s prayer might go something like this:
“Lord God, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and I accept You as my personal Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.”
If you prayed, and really meant it; you are saved and WILL go to heaven when you die:
Notice this isn't a Church. You can accept Jesus' Gift at home, in the car, on the beach... anywhere. Church is a great place too; just not the ONLY place...
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Getting saved is like a weight being lifted off, knowing that your sins are forgiven.
